The challenge

Control valves are critical components in oil and gas production processes. Chevron required both immediate servicing of existing valves and upskilling of their instrumentation team to independently handle configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of FieldVue DVC 6010/6200 smart positioners in order to reduce downtime and improve process control reliability.

Electro Domain was engaged by Chevron Nigeria Limited to deliver expert servicing of control valves combined with hands-on training on Emerson FieldVue DVC 6010 and 6200 digital valve controllers.

The project was successfully completed with zero safety incidents. Chevron’s instrumentation team gained advanced competency in maintaining digital valve controllers, leading to faster fault resolution and reduced process downtime. The training received excellent feedback, and the serviced control valves showed significant improvement in performance and reliability.
